According to Wikipedia, “Sway” is the English version of “¿Quién será?”, a 1953 mambo song by Mexican composer and bandleader Pablo Beltrán Ruiz. The most famous version is that of Dean Martin recorded in 1954. Since then the song has been recorded and remixed by many artists including Michael Bublé’s popular version.
We have a dear friend named Grenville Pinto who is an exceptional violinist and he plays this song magnificently. Check out his website here: Mr. Violin
While listening to Grenville play this song at one of our trunk shows and watching everyone in the audience smile and tap their feet, I was inspired to create a dress that would invoke this mood of joyful exhuberance and playfulness. And that’s the inspiration behind how my “Sway” dress was created.
